I went to Kew Gardens a few weeks ago which is quickly becoming one of my favourite places to go to visit. It’s extremely tranquil walking around the different parts of the Gardens and listening to the birds chirping away. I won’t deny that long walks in nature is one of my favourite things to do, everything is just…better!

During this day out I visited all of the different ‘attractions’ they had there such seeing The Bee Hive exhibition and being mesmerised by the greenhouses filled with beautiful exotic plants and trees. I also learnt that there are so many varieties of cacti! The trees are beautiful colours (it’s autumn and I love it!) and the air feels cleaner and fresher. Whilst wondering the many beautiful gardens, I forgot that this beautiful place was in the busy city of London! There’s nothing quite like being outdoors. Make the most of where you live and visit those unique places around you instead of staying indoors. Open your eyes to what nature has to offer.

Did you know? Wild cacti are under threat from building developments, animal grazing and collectors digging them up. All cacti are now included in the ‘Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)’. International exports of most species is illegal, unless permits are issued.
